2026 Host:
Our host for 2026 is sports presenter for the BBC, Mike Bushell . ![]()
Few people can say they have played tennis against Novak Djokovic, played golf with Luke Donald and sailed with Sir Ben Ainslie. Even fewer can say they have fallen into a swimming pool in front of Adam Peaty, competed on Strictly Come Dancing and won Celebrity Mastermind – with a specialist subject of Alan Partridge. For Mike Bushell, though, these achievements are just the tip of the iceberg. As the longest-serving sports presenter in the history of BBC Breakfast, most of the people in the room today will have undoubtedly woken up with Mike … on their TV. Mike also holds the world record for trying out obscure sports from around the world – highlights including wing walking, shin-kicking and even backwards running. Let’s hope he comes onto stage facing forwards today, as I doubt our risk assessment would have covered him taking a more adventurous route!
