GC Doors

GC Doors has strengthened its position in the market by transforming the challenges of growing demand, complex repair requirements and rising client expectations into opportunities for innovation, learning and operational excellence.
Facing an increasing volume of complex repair requests – particularly for tilt-and-turn, tilt-and- slide, bi-fold and other specialist mechanisms – GC Doors recognised a clear gap in the repair market. Many contractors default to replacement due to limited technical capability, resulting in unnecessary cost and waste. In response, we embraced a culture of informal learning, hands-on upskilling and collaborative knowledge-sharing. Engineers developed expertise organically through real-world casework, shadowing senior staff and team-based troubleshooting. This practical approach enabled us to build authentic specialist capability and establish a strong niche in complex repairs, embedding a repair-first philosophy at the heart of our service model.
As demand increased, we modernised our operations to ensure resilience and efficiency. A full review of communication practices led to clearer, more frequent updates for clients, including structured reports in plain language, photographs and transparent recommendations. We also introduced a digital job management and scheduling system with automated notifications. This improved consistency, reduced missed appointments, prevented avoidable rebooking charges and kept clients and stakeholders fully informed throughout the work cycle.
The system also enabled smarter route planning and work clustering, significantly reducing wasted mileage, carbon emissions and operating costs. To support rising demand, we expanded our workforce by recruiting two additional staff members, increasing capacity and strengthening service reliability.
Together, these improvements have driven business growth, attracted new clients and increased workload volume. GC Doors now operates with greater efficiency, stronger technical capability and a culture of continuous improvement – delivering better outcomes for clients, staff and the environment.

Kettell Windows

Our 20th year marked a pivotal transformation – becoming more visible and making a decisive step change for the next two decades. It kicked off with a win at the GGP Awards 2025, which propelled us forward with renewed confidence to build on our credentials and further strengthen our niche as a premium installer. Across Leicester and Leicestershire, there are over 190 providers of windows and doors – a crowded marketplace perpetually driven by a race to the bottom on price. But there's only one award winner, and we've leveraged this distinction to become the destination for invested homeowners.
As a family-run business established in 2005, we've always been renowned for our trustworthy, low-pressure approach and exceptional attention to detail. However, recognising market saturation required bold action. During Covid, we streamlined our offering exclusively to windows and doors, specialising in direct replacement with bespoke solutions and high-end finishes. We have since gone on to add curated premium brands – Bison Frames, Aluco, Origin, Sheerline, and Liniar's innovative Zero90 system – giving customers access to exceptional quality products unavailable elsewhere.
Operationally, we restructured to maximise the effectiveness of our small but skilled team. By appointing a dedicated order processor, we freed our director to focus on sales, where his product knowledge and industry passion significantly increased conversion rates. We built a sales-focused culture where every team member, including our admin apprentice, contributes to revenue generation. Strategic automation through email triggers and AI-assisted marketing allowed us to manage an increased workload without compromising our renowned customer service.
The results speak volumes: despite challenging economic conditions, 2025 is set to become our best year since Covid. We've proven that premium positioning, operational excellence, and genuine expertise can thrive even when competitors compete solely on price. For homeowners seeking unparalleled craftsmanship and bespoke fenestration solutions, Kettell Windows remains Leicester's premier choice.
Radcliffe Glass & Windows
RADGAW, a trading style of Radcliffe Glass & Windows Ltd after a strategically planned rebrand, is a long-established premium glazing specialist serving the North West since 1979. Under the leadership of managing director Clive Powers for 26 years, the business has evolved into a high-end provider of architectural aluminium solutions for homes and commercial spaces. Following a major £100k rebrand in June 2025, RADGAW now reflects the modern, design-driven glazing systems it supplies and installs.
The company specialises in Origin, Spitfire, Aluco and other leading aluminium brands, offering slimline bifolds, sliding doors, architectural windows, steel-look glazing, internal partitions, specialist roof systems and bespoke structural glazing. With a strong focus on energy efficiency, sustainability and precision installation, RADGAW delivers solutions that combine style, performance, and long-term durability.
Despite a challenging economic climate and a contracting industry, RADGAW has demonstrated exceptional resilience – achieving a 25% increase in turnover YTD and surpassing the previous year’s revenue by early November. This growth has been driven by strategic investment, premium product diversification, modernised operations, and a commitment to excellence in both service and craftsmanship. In a shrinking economy, the decision to proceed with the 10-year plan was a brave decision due to the large investment required in one fiscal year, the possible risk of losing existing customers and the upheaval whilst performing the renovation and full rebrand.
Today, after the rebrand, RADGAW stands as a forward-thinking, customer focused business known for complex installations, technical expertise and high-quality design. Its transformation has positioned the company as a leading provider of architectural glazing in the Northwest region and beyond.

Ventrolla

Based in Harrogate, Ventrolla was founded in 1983 by Robert Tunnicliffe, a former Ford Motors engineer. Ventrolla was born from his quest to resolve draught issues in his own home. What began as a handmade prototype evolved into the world’s first Perimeter Sealing System (VPSS) and Sash Removal System (SRS).
Designed to eliminate draughts, rattles and dust ingress, the VPSS was awarded the prestigious Design Council Award (Engineering Components) shortly after its invention. This system, along with the SRS, remains central to Ventrolla’s distinguished offering over 40 years later.

Through this training, Ventrolla has played a key role in upskilling the region, supporting apprenticeships and offering an alternative route to education and job security for people who thrive outside of traditional education, and for people from diverse backgrounds.
Chris Davis
Pro-Frame Window Installations

Chris has played a pivotal role in the first 18 months of our business, handling all Pro-Frame window installations and surveys with precision and professionalism. He manages direct communication with customers, ensuring their requirements are understood and met, and stays late when needed to prepare timely, accurate quotes.
He also coordinates regularly with suppliers to maintain smooth operations and ensure materials are delivered on schedule. Despite the challenges that come with launching a new business, Chris has approached each responsibility with resilience and a positive attitude. His dedication, attention to detail, and commitment to customer satisfaction have been crucial in establishing our reputation for quality and reliability in the window installation industry and our local community achieving a lot of 5* reviews that praise his attitude and dedication.
Eloise Millband
Kettell Windows

Eloise joined Kettell, a family-run Leicester-based windows and doors specialist, as a Business Administration Apprentice, completing her qualification with distinction from Loughborough College in July 2025. Since then, she has become an indispensable team member, contributing across marketing, sales, and operations in ways that far exceed expectations for someone at her career stage.
What distinguishes Eloise is her remarkable initiative and entrepreneurial mindset. She actively identifies opportunities for improvement and acts on them with confidence. Her apprenticeship project saw her research, trial and implement an AI-powered chatbot for customer service – likely the first in Leicestershire's double glazing industry. Though ultimately removed due to technical limitations with complex product queries, the innovation demonstrated forward-thinking rare in this traditionally slow-to-adapt sector, and her groundwork continues benefiting marketing and operational efficiency.
Eloise's commercial impact has been transformative. Despite entering the business with no industry knowledge, she has mastered the technical complexity of windows, doors, and configurations, generating £75,000 in incremental sales since January 2025. She confidently guides customers through complicated specifications, recently spending over three hours designing multiple door options with one couple. Her largest sale – £6,300 for a composite door and two garage doors – involved a near-new product line, yet she persevered and closed the deal. In a male-dominated competitive landscape, she's proving what young people can achieve with determination and proper support.
Beyond sales, Eloise has eliminated operational bottlenecks in order processing, contributing to 25% year-on-year sales growth, whilst her social media content drives consistently increasing engagement.
Most inspiring is Eloise's personal journey – managing anxiety whilst building confidence in customer-facing roles demonstrates resilience that inspires everyone around her. She represents the future of small business success. We are super proud to have her in the Kettell Team!
Riley Fagan
Kettell Windows

In an industry facing a critical shortage of skilled installers, Riley demonstrates the exceptional results possible when companies invest in nurturing new talent. Having recently completed his Level 2 Installer Apprenticeship with distinction, Riley exemplifies the next generation of fenestration professionals who will shape the future of our industry.
Riley serves as a Fitter's Mate at Kettell Windows, supporting high-end residential installations while rapidly progressing toward independent working. His role encompasses technical installation work, service support, customer handovers, and even marketing initiatives – demonstrating versatility that extends far beyond traditional installer responsibilities. What truly distinguishes Riley is his unwavering commitment to quality standards and the professional courage to uphold them.
Riley's work ethic is exemplary. He regularly arrives early and stays late to ensure installations are completed on schedule, maintains a positive attitude through challenging weather conditions, and proactively seeks guidance during his training to achieve his distinction qualification. He now works independently on installations and collaborates with fellow apprentice Jack, building the skilled workforce capacity our industry desperately needs.
Looking forward, Riley's ambition is clear: to continue developing his skills and ultimately establish his own fenestration company. His journey demonstrates that when businesses invest in apprenticeships and comprehensive training, they don't just fill immediate workforce gaps – they cultivate passionate professionals committed to long-term careers in our industry. We all know this industry needs more of this!
Chris Blanks
Elwyns

Chris Blanks has had a significant and lasting influence on the fenestration industry through decades of hands-on experience, innovation, and a commitment to quality and customer care. Since taking over Elwyns in 2000, he has transformed the family business from a small DIY-focused shop into a multi-showroom, award-winning company serving Surrey, South London, and the South East.
He has successfully guided the business through major industry changes, from the early days of secondary glazing to the introduction of modern PVC-U and the latest energy-efficient products. By working closely with market-leading manufacturers and staying at the forefront of technological and environmental innovation, Chris has ensured Elwyns continues to offer customers the best solutions in a fast-evolving market.
A key part of his influence has been raising standards in customer experience. He moved away from high-pressure selling, introducing showrooms where clients can make informed decisions in a relaxed, professional environment. His vision of having staff act as design consultants, offering impartial advice across a wide range of products, has set a benchmark for service excellence within the industry. Every customer receives detailed quotations, drawings, and clear introductions to their installation team, ensuring transparency and peace of mind.
Chris has also built strong partnerships with leading manufacturers and nurtured a loyal, highly skilled workforce. His approach to staff development, mentoring, and comprehensive in-house training has created a family-oriented culture that values teamwork, integrity, and pride in workmanship.
Through his entrepreneurial spirit, forward thinking, and ethical business practices, Chris has demonstrated that sustainable growth, professionalism, and exceptional customer service can go hand in hand, leaving a lasting legacy within the fenestration industry.
Gary Jones
Glevum Windows

For more than 40 years, Gary Jones has been a transformative, pioneering, and widely respected figure within the fenestration industry. As founder of Glevum Windows in 1984, he helped shape the standards, expectations, and professional identity of the home improvement and new-build glazing sectors across Gloucestershire and the surrounding counties. His early commitment to creativity and high-quality communication set new benchmarks for industry marketing, most notably through the memorable ‘Class Behind Glass’ campaign featuring Melinda Messenger and the much-loved Three Little Pigs radio adverts, both of which helped cement Glevum as a trusted regional brand.
Gary’s career has been defined by innovation and forward-thinking leadership. He was among the first to introduce conservatories into major housebuilder upgrade packages in the 1990s, bringing a new level of choice and quality to new-build customers. Under his guidance, Glevum became the first company approved under the BBA-inspected installer scheme for the new-build market and later the first window and door firm to achieve Green Deal accreditation through FENSA – clear demonstrations of his commitment to raising industry standards in compliance, sustainability, and technical excellence.
His investment in digital transformation was equally influential. The launch of the Glevum New Build Portal in 2015 modernised workflow, improved communication with developers, and delivered process transparency years ahead of broader industry adoption.
Alongside commercial success, Gary fostered a culture rooted in safety, customer care, and continuous improvement, resulting in numerous national and regional awards across technology, customer satisfaction, and installation quality. His strong community engagement – from Gloucestershire Crimestoppers to the Severn Sound Money Mountain – has further enhanced the reputation of both Glevum and the wider fenestration sector.
Dedicated, innovative, and service-driven, Gary Jones leaves a lasting legacy of improved standards, better customer experiences, and genuine industry progress.

His contribution extends beyond individual sales; he has actively shaped our customer experience, strengthened client relationships and played a key role in elevating our presence in a competitive market. John’s dedication, reliability and sustained success make him an outstanding nominee for this award and a true asset to the fenestration industry.
Roger Hartshorn
Garnalex

A stalwart of the fenestration industry, with a career spanning almost 50 years, Roger’s reputation precedes him. Not only is he listened to and respected by his peers, but he is well-regarded within the workplace, fostering environments that are genuinely a pleasure to be a part of.
From starting out as a toolroom apprentice to leading a management buyout and ultimately launching three successful systems houses spanning both PVC-U and aluminium sectors, Roger has done it all.
While at Eurocell and Liniar, Roger successfully launched market-leading products. He later replicated this at Sheerline, which has arguably helped to reinvigorate a stagnant aluminium sector through continuous development, innovation, and clever solutions.
But he never forgot where he started, and has been a champion of apprenticeships at each systems house in a bid to nurture and foster the next generation of fenestration talent. It isn’t just apprentices that Roger supports though.
Many of the team who helped launch Sheerline had previously worked for Roger and moved with him. Some of the people working at Sheerline now have worked with Roger for 10, 20, 30 years or more.
Roger’s career trajectory illustrates precisely what can be achieved with hard work, a solid business strategy, an ambitious vision, and a committed, knowledgeable team.
Shauna Brett
Emerald Windows & Doors

In a sector that often celebrates the loudest voices, Shauna Brett stands out for a different reason: quiet, consistent impact. As general manager of Emerald Windows and Doors, she has reshaped what a family-run fenestration installer can achieve through culture, clarity, and people-first strategy.
During Covid, when many paused operations, Shauna strengthened them. She redirected focus toward digital resilience – writing homeowner-first blogs, improving SEO foundations, and reducing agency reliance to protect cashflow. Enquiries rose by 176% year-on- year between June 2019 and June 2020, and many of those pages still convert today – demonstrating lasting value and a model other local installers now reference.
Operationally, she delivered a four-day working week for installers, rare in fenestration, managing rota design, customer messaging, KPI tracking, and feedback loops. Productivity held, morale rose and retention improved. Suppliers and peers now ask about that system, recognising it as a sustainable blueprint for modern employment in the industry.
Shauna is also the connective tissue within the company, liaising with suppliers, supporting installers, coordinating appointments, recruiting internally, and smoothing bottlenecks before they become problems. When Emerald’s installation manager recently took extended leave, she absorbed those responsibilities alongside her own to maintain efficiency and customer service without disruption.
Beyond process, she develops people. Under her mentorship, Emerald’s marketing matured into a confident engine, with stronger SEO, record-performing blogs, and a TikTok presence that passed one million views in its first year.
Shauna doesn’t seek attention, but her influence is undeniable. She proves that advancement in fenestration isn’t just about product or price; it’s about people, systems, and trust. Recognising her would spotlight the kind of leadership that quietly moves the industry forward, every single day.

Bi-Fold Vent
Glazpart

The Glazpart Bi-Fold Vent is a welcome addition to the bi-fold component market as it has a unique low-profile louvred canopy, combined with a low-profile vent to allow both the internal vent and louvered grill clip in easily to sit between the open concertinaed door leaves.
Moulded from high-quality virgin ASA, the vents are highly temperature- and colour-stable when compared to PVC-U.
The vent is designed for compliance to the building regulations with the independently tested equivalent area, it sits in a 16mm rout and in many cases, can be located directly into the door leaf or frame, removing the need for expensive additional ‘knock on’ or extended profiles.
With an EQA of 2700EA, a three-panel door meets the background ventilation regulations for the room. The tried and tested clip design sits perfectly in the low-profile chassis allowing the split closure plates to direct the air away from occupants. The internal closure plates of the Bi-Fold Door Vent clip onto a uniquely designed low-profile chassis, which in turn clips within the aluminium profile, leaving only the height of the lids protruding above the profile. The chassis is supplied in either white or black, dependant on the colour of the patented closure plates with their innovative vertical closure plates.
The external section has a new louvered design, to give the minimum amount of protrusion from the face of the profile. The louvred flyscreen sits beneath the reveal giving additional protection from the elements. Currently available in White, Black and Anthracite Grey in standard sets, bespoke and matching colours can be manufactured at Glazpart's factory in Banbury, Oxfordshire.
integrateCONNECT
EndtoEnd IT
integrateCONNECT is the quickest and simplest way to start producing professional and personalised quotes from initial design without having to invest in off-the-shelf, complex software.
Launched at the FIT Show 2025, integrateCONNECT is the latest addition to the integrate family. Designed as the perfect first step for growth-focused window and door installers, it answers the most pressing need we kept hearing: how to bring design, pricing, and quoting into one seamless system.
From speaking to the industry, we have found that too often, the industry has been using software that hasn't grown with them – either they'd chosen an option that didn't deliver, or they felt they were not established enough yet to take on sophisticated software.
integrate already addresses the first problem. Thanks to its modular design and continuous development, the software grows with you. However, when we asked ourselves what window and door companies need as a first step, the answer was simple: something that can design windows or doors and create professional quotes all in one place to help them stand out, work better, and win more projects.
integrateCONNECT helps window and door businesses to stop juggling multiple programs for designs, pricing, and quotes. By using integrateCONNECT's intuitive drawing board, they can create professional, detailed designs and instantly generate branded quotes without switching applications. This all-in-one approach eliminates manual duplication and reduces costly errors that can plague window and door production.
The beauty of integrateCONNECT is its simplicity. Businesses don't need to overhaul their entire operation or invest in a complete software system before they're ready. Start with one module, master design and quoting with one user, win business, and then grow.
The Stronghold
Stronghold

The Stronghold-Anchor System continues to transform the way glazing and fenestration professionals approach work at height, delivering safer, faster and more cost-effective installations without the need for traditional scaffolding.
Evidence to the system’s effectiveness comes from MAC, whose 15-storey replacement project at Hammond and Dickson House in Stoke-on-Trent showcases Stronghold’s ability to remove and install 250 windows entirely from inside the building. The project was completed safely, two weeks ahead of schedule, and saved approximately £160,000 compared to the cost of scaffolding.
This is supported by powerful feedback from Crystal Windows and Doors Ltd, whose ongoing use of the Stronghold has eliminated the need to turn down projects where scaffold cannot be used, cutting costs, reducing lead times and improving installer confidence. Further case studies from Prater Ltd, ABC Locksmiths and Sash Smart reinforce Stronghold’s growing reputation as the trusted solution for safe internal access for its customers, even on high-rise, restricted-access and heritage sites. Together, these examples provide clear, quantifiable proof of Stronghold’s outstanding contribution to safety, innovation and efficiency across the fenestration industry.
A technical report from SATRA clearly shows the testing requirements of the Stronghold, in which the latest innovation was tested in accordance with EN 795:2012 and CEN/TS 16415: 2013.

FDM - Training & Development
UAP

FDM – Training & Development (by UAP Ltd) is raising competence across the UK fire door industry with the FDM Training Academy - the country’s first hands on training environment dedicated solely to fire doors. Launched in February 2024, the 3,000ft2, purpose built facility in Bury replicates real multi occupancy buildings so trainees work with live products and realistic installation conditions.
Designed to address gaps highlighted by the Grenfell Tower Inquiry, the programme covers the full fire door lifecycle: from design and procurement through to installation, inspection, repair and maintenance. Training blends concise theory with rigorous practical assessment. Learners complete pre learning, a written test and a hands on exam. Courses are accredited by GQA Qualifications and approved by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB). Successful participants receive GQA certification and a skills card as recognised proof of competence.
The impact is clear: in the last 18 months, FDM has trained more than 1,200 professionals from across the supply chain, building a consistent baseline of practical capability. Over 60 collaborators, including the Glass and Glazing Federation, the Fire Protection Association, the Association of Composite Door Manufacturers and Secured by Design, ensure exposure to varied products and real world scenarios. Organisations such as the National Association for Fire Health Officers trust FDM to train their teams.
FDM also leads industry dialogue. One year after opening, FDM convened a national roundtable chaired by Dame Judith Hackitt, generating 181 pieces of media coverage and an estimated reach of 394 million. Dame Judith described FDM as an exemplar of good practice, reinforcing the programme’s emphasis on practical competence, traceability and compliance.
By connecting real world training, robust assessment and recognised accreditation, FDM is raising standards, reducing risk and helping build a safer, more accountable built environment.

The clients approached Bereco seeking a secure, stylish and energy efficient replacement for their original door, and needed a supplier capable of handling a complex brief while preserving the character of their home.
Working in close collaboration with the homeowners, Bereco developed a design that balanced aesthetics, practicality and security. The final specification featured a Traditional timber entrance door with matching sidelights and a fanlight, all built around a substantial 68mm door leaf for long-term stability and performance. A multi-point locking system and 3-star security cylinder were incorporated to meet the clients’ priorities for protection and peace of mind.
One of the most distinctive aspects of the project was the glazing design. The clients wished to introduce a new decorative pattern that respected the character of their original door while benefiting from modern insulated glazing. To achieve this, Bereco worked closely with them to create a bespoke combination of coloured glass, decorative leadwork and Stippolyte obscure glazing. The coloured glass and primary lead pattern were positioned on the external pane, while the Stippolyte obscure glass formed the centre layer of the unit. Because the patterned centre pane softened the appearance of the leadwork when viewed from indoors, a supplementary internal lead pattern was added to the inner pane. This ensured the design remained crisp and visible from inside the property – an approach tailored uniquely for this installation.
The finished entrance offers an elegant, characterful focal point for the home, enhancing its appearance while delivering modern security, energy efficiency and long-lasting performance.
Emerald Windows & Doors

This project began as part of a Christmas community giveaway, where local homeowners Chris and Tasha were selected from hundreds of entries to receive a fully installed composite door at no cost. What started as a festive campaign quickly became a full transformation of their home’s entrance.
Their existing PVC-U door had become unstable over time, especially when regularly slammed by their children, and was causing both heat loss and concern over long-term security. The curved entranceway of the property naturally draws focus to the front of the home, so this installation aimed not just to replace a door, but to create a defined feature that suited the architecture and day to day use of the property.
For this installation, a Comp Door Winslow 3 was fitted alongside Elmhurst glazed side and top screens with clear toughened glass. The colour was refined during a showroom consultation to French Grey, chosen for its ability to add definition to the entrance while remaining in harmony with the exterior palette of the home. The result was more than just a visual improvement. The homeowners immediately noticed a warmer hallway, a stronger sense of security, and a complete removal of the ‘wobble’ that had characterised their old door.
The installation also provided environmental benefits. The timber core is sourced under a system where new trees are planted for each one harvested, and the outer frame contains recycled PVC-U. The previous door was collected for recycling, supporting reduced waste and responsible material reuse. With improved insulation and reduced heat loss, the installation is expected to help lower energy demand during colder months.
The project successfully combined aesthetic improvement, sustainability and everyday practicality, resulting in a feature entrance that the homeowners can feel proud to return to each day.
GHW Windows

The homeowners approached GHW Windows seeking a show-stopping entrance that would completely transform the kerb appeal of their contemporary home in Windermere in the Lake District. While delivering the highest standards of security and thermal performance. Their vision was for a bold architectural focal point – something that seamlessly blended warmth and natural material tones with the home’s modern black cladding and clean exterior lines. The brief centred on creating a feature entrance that felt grand yet welcoming, using a premium product that did not compromise functionality.
Abundant natural light was a key priority, so a door system including full-height glass sidelights was essential. The homeowners also wanted a door that incorporated bespoke detailing, including a standout handle and a design aesthetic that aligned with the broader architectural scheme.
GHW Windows worked closely with the clients and architect to refine the final solution. A Spitfire aluminium entrance door, finished in a warm timber-effect exterior with vertical detailing and glazed side panels, was selected as the perfect expression of modern craftsmanship. The result is a striking architectural feature that sets a confident tone from the very first impression – uniting aesthetics, precision engineering, and performance into one exceptional entrance system.
Inspiration Doors

This striking double-door installation showcases the craftsmanship, creativity, and technical capability behind the Inspiration Doors range. Designed as a bold architectural statement, the entrance features two oversized door leaves finished in our signature Oxidised Iron – a hand-applied real-metal coating that delivers depth, texture, and character impossible to achieve with standard powder-coated or composite products. Every panel is individually patinated and sealed by our finishing team, resulting in a sculptural façade that transforms naturally in different lighting conditions.
Measuring 1700 × 2400 mm, the door set is built around a solid engineered core to ensure long-term stability and a smooth, reassuringly weighty operation. The internal faces and Sapele hardwood frame were finished in RAL 9004 (Signal Black) to match the home’s contemporary interior palette. To enhance evening presence, the external bar handle, also finished in RAL 9004, features integrated LED lighting designed to cast a soft glow across the iron surface, showcasing the patina’s natural tonal variations.
Security and usability were equally important to the client, leading to the inclusion of a multi-point locking system, slam-shut auto-lock, and day-latch for practical everyday access. The installation required meticulous alignment work to ensure both oversized door leaves met perfectly, with clean sightlines and a seamless close.
This project represents the very best of bespoke feature-door design: a blend of hand finished artistry, precision engineering, and meticulous installation. The result is a dramatic, museum-quality entrance that elevates the property’s exterior and exemplifies the craftsmanship of Inspiration Doors and the team behind it.
Lightfoot Windows

Lightfoot Windows have been a Crittall steel window specialist since 1935. We take pride in our long-running partnership with Crittall Windows, making us the largest and most experienced Crittall specialist within the Crittall network.
This project showcased Lightfoot’s expertise in Crittall’s products, as they transformed a neglected cottage in an East Yorkshire conservation area. The client wanted a window and door combi-frame to suit the property’s triangular lean-to roof, to transform the space into a kitchen/diner, side entrance and utility room. The design had to retain the slim profile at the transom drop above the door.
The client was looking for a profile with slim sightlines that would not only become a focal point for their re-built extension but would also stand out from the rest of the glazing in their home, as well as complementing the property style itself. The existing house is detached with a large garden and established trees and planting. Therefore, maximising the amount of natural light into their home and ensuring that the glazing brought an indoor-outdoor feel was crucial to allow unobstructed views of their garden.
Various alterations and extensions had been carried out throughout the building’s history, as well as replacement PVC-U windows and doors being fitted in place of the traditional timber joinery. Whilst retaining the PVC-U glazing in other areas of their home, the clients wanted something special for the re-built extension. After discussing the potential solutions with their architect, the client decided to proceed with authentic Crittall steel. The ultra slim sightlines of the windows allow the maximum amount of natural light to enter any space and the bespoke nature of the product meant it could be tailored to suit their 3.7m-high raked head opening. Since the Crittall product is completely bespoke, a design was created which not only complements their property, but also adds a contemporary feel to the extension, blending a mix of the traditional with the modern. The Corporate W20 profile was chosen as the flexibility and strength in this profile meant that we could not only achieve the height required, but also the shape of the opening itself.
Radcliffe Glass & Windows

RADGAW thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of creating a striking and memorable Grand Entrance for our clients, Mr and Mrs Khan. The central feature of the design was the Spitfire S500 Door, a product known for its ability to be fully customised to suit even the most ambitious specifications. This allowed us to craft a completely bespoke entrance door incorporating a recessed handle, fingerprint keyless entry system, Mountain Pine detailing, and elegant Swarovski crystal accents. These elements combined to deliver an entrance that is both architecturally impressive and distinctly personalised.
To complement the door and enhance the overall visual impact, we paired it with Sunflex UK SEF Slimline Aluminium Window Frames. These frames were used to form a feature aperture designed specifically to showcase the clients’ chandelier, turning it into a focal point visible from outside the property. Additionally, a large picture window was incorporated to maximise the flow of natural light into the hallway, creating a bright, welcoming atmosphere upon entry.
Given the unique nature of the design, the project required multiple rounds of detailed CAD drawings to refine the concept and ensure every component aligned perfectly with the clients’ expectations. Meticulous installation planning was also essential. With high-value products such as the Spitfire door and slimline window system, we took extensive precautions to avoid any damage during delivery and fitting, while prioritising the safety of our installation team.
This project stands as a strong example of Team RADGAW in action, collaborating seamlessly with trusted partners and applying technical expertise to turn a client’s vision into reality. The resulting entrance is not only functional but an impressive architectural centrepiece that the Khans can be proud of for years to come.
Silent View Windows

This entranceway formed the focal point of a full home upgrade carried out by Silent View Windows at a charming stone property in Oxfordshire. The original white door and boxed canopy sat awkwardly beneath a striking four pane window on the first floor, leaving the front elevation feeling unbalanced and disconnected. As part of the wider works, all windows and doors were replaced using French Grey flush casements, which created a consistent rhythm across the façade and allowed the new entranceway to be designed with a clearer architectural purpose.
The homeowners chose a Heritage Lavenham door in French Grey with full height glazed sidelights. This combination reflects the tall proportions of the first-floor glazing above and restores the vertical flow of the elevation. The French Grey finish blends gently into the limestone and creates a soft, heritage led appearance. Clear glazing in the sidelights draws natural light into the hallway and reveals the staircase, giving the entrance a more welcoming and open feel.
The area above the entrance had been altered in the past and was reconstructed during the wider building works. Timber was used in this location to create a visually consistent finish and to avoid the colour and weight issues that come with introducing newly quarried stone into an older façade. This approach is often used on rural Oxfordshire homes where traditional stonework meets modern improvements.
The installation was carried out with care and attention by the Silent View Windows team. Their thoughtful preparation and measured approach ensured the entranceway settled confidently beneath the tall windows above. The result is a balanced and sympathetic upgrade that enhances both the character and comfort of the home.

This project represents an outstanding example of contemporary design, technical precision, and expert installation. The modern aluminium entrance door was conceived to create a grand and inviting focal point, combining architectural elegance with high performance and durability. Every aspect of the project reflects a balance between aesthetic ambition and engineering excellence, resulting in a product that delivers both beauty and practicality.
One of the most distinctive aspects of the installation was the integration of a solid aluminium panel door with a different window system to suit a unique apex opening. This presented a significant design and technical challenge, requiring careful evaluation of multiple system combinations to achieve perfect alignment, superior performance, and a cohesive visual finish. The result is a seamless, well-proportioned entrance that allows natural light to enhance the interior while maintaining strength, balance, and precision.
Security and compliance were key priorities throughout the project. The door incorporates an ACUL285 Slam Lock for automatic multi-point locking, paired with a 3-Star security cylinder for maximum protection. Toughened Planitherm glass adds strength, safety, and thermal efficiency, ensuring the installation meets and exceeds current industry standards.
Sustainability also played a central role in the design. Double rebated weather seals deliver exceptional weather resistance, while advanced thermal performance helps to keep energy use low and interior comfort high. Built from durable aluminium, the door will not bow or fade, maintaining its sleek appearance and value for years to come.
This project demonstrates how thoughtful design, innovation, and skilled installation can transform a functional entrance into a statement of craftsmanship, performance, and modern architectural excellence.
YES Glazing Solutions (Fulham project)

This installation is a high-end residential refurbishment in West London, anchored around a beautifully redesigned, light-filled kitchen conceived by Humphrey Munson Kitchens. The brief for the glazing component called for elegant, slim-framed glazing solutions that would maximise natural light and visual continuity, while blending seamlessly with the sophisticated bespoke cabinetry and interior design. Given the premium finish of the kitchen and the property’s architectural context, the client wanted glazing that provided a strong visual statement without being visually dominant, a balance of refinement and architectural clarity.
Because the home’s layout required both fixed screens and operable doors, the glazing needed to deliver exceptional flexibility. It was important that the systems allowed large expanses of glass to flood the interior with daylight, while maintaining thermal performance, security and long-term durability. The client also sought a materials palette that would integrate with other modern architectural elements, achieving a coherent look throughout.
YES Glazing Solutions was engaged to deliver a glazing solution that would not only meet the functional requirements but also elevate the aesthetic of the space. Their task included specifying, fabricating and installing custom glazing units, combining fixed panels and operable doors to create a seamless interface between internal and external spaces. The final install had to complement the contemporary cabinetry, maintain clean lines, and support the client’s desire for a calm, open and refined living environment.
YES Glazing Solutions (Westerham project)

This standout project in Westerham, Kent, showcases the transformative impact a beautifully engineered feature entrance can have on a full property renovation. The homeowners set out to convert a modest, traditional bungalow into a contemporary, design-led home defined by clean lines, premium glazing and modern architectural detailing. Central to achieving that vision was the installation of a bespoke Steel Core Front Entrance Door, a statement piece designed to deliver exceptional security, smart-home functionality and striking visual appeal.
The entrance door immediately sets the tone for the entire home. Combining a robust steel core with a sleek, modern exterior finish, it offers the highest standards of strength and durability while complementing the steel-look glazing used throughout the property. Its integration with a state-of-the-art fingerprint entry system adds both convenience and sophistication, allowing the homeowners to enjoy keyless access without compromising on security.
The installation required meticulous technical execution due to the weight and performance requirements of the steel-core system. Our installation team ensured full compliance with all regulatory standards, delivering perfect alignment, airtight sealing and seamless integration of the smart-access hardware. The result is a flawlessly finished entrance that is as practical as it is impressive.
This door has become one of the defining elements of the renovation. It creates a genuine sense of arrival, enhances the home’s architectural identity and ties together the property’s wider glazing design, from the elegant steel-look windows to the open-plan internal doors and expansive sliding systems at the rear.
Delivered with craftsmanship, care and attention to detail, this feature entrance door powerfully demonstrates how a single installation can elevate the aesthetic, performance and character of an entire home.

Hazlemere Window Co

The Hazlemere team thoroughly enjoyed working on this project to transform a 1950s bungalow that needed some love into the dream forever home for a couple moving into Oxfordshire. We began initial discussions with the couple ahead of exchange of contracts, and once they were in a position to proceed, our designer created a 3D walkthrough showing exactly how the existing small, dark rooms could be re-modelled to deliver a light and airy space incorporating an open plan kitchen, dining and living area for the sociable family.
Importantly, the design also made the most of the stunning views to the rear of the property, using clever configuration of the living space, plus the addition of a large picture window, so the open countryside vista can now be enjoyed from throughout the ground floor. It's been a delight to re-visit the property now the decorating and final touches have been added, and we are all thrilled to see our fabulous clients settled into their beautiful home.
Jewel Home Group

Faced with an outdated, uninsulated conservatory, the client wanted a bright, stylish, and energy-efficient space she could enjoy all year. Previously only usable in summer, the room needed a complete thermal and aesthetic upgrade.
The solution combined heritage charm with modern performance. Two heritage windows and a matching heritage door deliver traditional character with high-performance double glazing (U-values 1.3–1.5 W/m²K), slimline frames, and authentic detailing. A Cortizo aluminium sliding patio door floods the space with natural light, offering ultra-slim sightlines, smooth operation, and excellent thermal efficiency (U-values ~1.2 W/m²K).Completing the transformation, a Warmer Roof system provides superior insulation, integrated ventilation, and structural stability, turning the former conservatory into a comfortable, all-season extension (U-values 0.15–0.18 W/m²K).
Every product meets UK regulatory standards, including BS EN 14351-1, PAS 24, BS 6375, and Building Regulations Parts L and B. Installation was carried out by trained, certified installers under FENSA, following manufacturer guidelines to ensure air-tight sealing, thermal efficiency, safety, and long-term durability.
The result is a seamless integration of heritage and contemporary design. The extension now balances visual appeal, comfort, and energy performance, providing a room that is stylish, practical, and fully compliant. The AI-generated design visual perfectly predicted the outcome, reflecting the precision of planning, specification, and workmanship that defines this project.
Radcliffe Glass & Windows

Our clients, Mr and Mrs Brown, approached RADGAW with the ambition of transforming the rear of their property through a contemporary single-storey extension. Their vision included a complete reconfiguration of the existing rear floorplan, with the aim of creating a bright and spacious environment that combined open-plan living with subtle, thoughtfully designed separation between key areas. They desired a space that felt modern while retaining a timeless, enduring character.
To bring this concept to life, the project required significant structural work. Several internal and external supporting walls had to be removed in strict compliance with Building Regulations, ensuring the extension would be both secure and seamlessly integrated with the original structure. Throughout the process, it was essential that the new layout enhanced natural light, flow, and functionality within the home.
After visiting our showroom, the Browns were immediately drawn to the Origin Aluminium Soho collection. Its sleek lines, refined industrial aesthetic, and versatile specification perfectly matched their brief and offered an ideal solution for both the internal partitions and the external glazing. The collection’s distinctive style helped define the character of the new space while allowing light to move freely throughout the extension.
For the roof design, the clients selected our Lightweight Tiled Warm Roof system. However, they expressed a desire for a brighter interior than traditional Velux roof lights typically deliver. To meet this requirement, we recommended a hybrid warm roof configuration, combining the thermal benefits of a solid roof with the enhanced illumination provided by larger integrated glazing panels. This tailored approach ensured the completed extension achieved the light-filled, elegant atmosphere the clients envisioned.
Reddish Joinery

Our client Jill wanted a traditional, period-correct orangery that enhanced her home while creating a seamless view of the garden. It was essential that every detail complemented the character of the property, so we designed Georgian-style windows with flush casement frames and dummy casements for a perfectly balanced, elegant finish.
The entire structure, including bespoke gutters, fascia and fluted corner posts were crafted from Accoya timber, chosen for its exceptional stability, sustainability, and 50-year warranty against timber decay. We also produced a made-to-measure Accoya roof lantern with integrated lighting and 1.0 U-value solar-control glazing. Coastal marine-grade 316 stainless steel hardware was selected for long-lasting durability.
The result is a beautifully detailed orangery that blends period charm with modern performance, built by certified Accoya specialists with a focus on quality and longevity.
Stafford uPVC Windows

Stafford uPVC Windows is proud to present this full-build conservatory project – a complete transformation of an outdated, unusable conservatory into a bright, modern, year-round living space. The homeowners wanted an extension that delivered abundant natural light, seamless garden access, and the flexibility to include a log burner for cosy, all-season use.
From the outset, we worked closely with the clients, producing a detailed 3D design model to help them visualise the final space. During the assessment, we identified that the existing conservatory sat on unstable ground, which posed a significant structural risk. To ensure long-term stability and full compliance with building standards, we installed pile-driven foundations – providing a robust base capable of supporting a habitable extension.
With secure foundations in place, we constructed the new conservatory using high performance glazing, including self-cleaning roof glass, to maximise natural light. Large picture windows and sleek bifold doors were incorporated to create an effortless indoor-outdoor connection. Both internal and external lighting were installed to ensure the space remains inviting day and night. The design also allowed for a flue installation, enabling the clients to fit a log burner and enhance year-round comfort.
The finished build is a contemporary, energy-efficient extension that blends naturally with the existing home. It delivers exceptional daylight, thermal comfort, and modern aesthetics – turning what was once an unusable room into a versatile living space suited to family life in every season.
TP Improvements

This project highlights a modern new build project showcasing minimalist architecture integrated with advanced glazing solutions. Designed by Arc8 Projects Architects, the home is in a green, scenic area and emphasises sustainability, natural light, and energy efficiency while maintaining a refined, contemporary aesthetic. TP Improvements was commissioned to supply and install all sliding doors, windows, and a custom glass courtyard area. They used high-performance slimline aluminium glazing systems chosen for both their sleek design and strong environmental credentials.
Key features include:
• Ultra-slim 20mm aluminium frames for minimal visual obstruction and maximum
durability
• Thermally broken frames and energy-efficient glazing
• Smooth sliding doors to enhance indoor-outdoor living and natural ventilation
• A structural glass courtyard to boost solar gain and distribute daylight
• Use of recyclable materials to support low-impact construction
Sustainability was at the heart of the project, with a focus on reducing the environmental footprint by using recyclable aluminium and energy-efficient glazing. These features not only enhanced visual appeal but also contributed to lower energy consumption and a more comfortable living environment. The project was recognised at the South East Energy Efficiency Awards 2025 for ‘New Build Project’ due to its strong focus on energy efficiency.
The finished home is a prime example of how contemporary design and sustainability can align. The slimline glazing enhances aesthetics, functionality, and environmental responsibility, connecting indoor spaces with the outdoors while promoting energy-efficient living.
YES Glazing Solutions (Cheltenham project)

This project was a full-scale, high-spec glazed extension commissioned by a homeowner seeking to dramatically expand and modernise their living space. The existing building line was modest, and the extension’s ambition was to deliver a light-filled, open-plan area that fused indoor and outdoor living. The brief emphasised large spans of glazing, minimal frame intrusion, and a high-quality finish that would elevate the home rather than slavishly mimic a simple conservatory.
The client wanted the extension to feel like a purpose-built architect-designed volume, rather than an ‘add-on’. It needed to look sleek and contemporary, provide excellent thermal performance, and integrate with the garden in a visually elegant way. In addition, the space was expected to serve multiple functions: as a dining area, a family lounge and an entertaining zone – meaning natural light, versatility of circulation, and a sense of continuity with the main house were all important.
YES Glazing Solutions was engaged early in the design process to provide consultancy, specification, and installation. Their task was to deliver glazing and structural systems that would maximise visual openness while ensuring the extension met building regulations, energy efficiency targets, and real-world usability. The client also requested a bespoke look rather than off-the-shelf windows or doors – they wanted something that would feel tailored, high-end and permanent.
Conservatech Home Improvements
This project showcases how thoughtful technical expertise and customer focused design can elevate a standard installation into an exceptional home transformation. The client originally requested a simple lean-to conservatory, a practical, mono-pitch extension that would add usable space. However, during the technical survey our technical director, Eric, identified significant limitations in the proposed design, particularly the restricted frame height and reduced sense of internal volume.
Rather than deliver a space that might feel compromised, Eric discussed an alternative solution with the customer: a warm deck orangery. This approach offered a far superior outcome, providing both architectural elegance and dramatically improved performance. By opting for a warm deck roof system, the client benefited from excellent thermal efficiency, ensuring the new room would be comfortable and functional all year round.
The orangery design also allowed for a much higher frame height, instantly transforming the proposed space into a bright airy living area with increased volume and a more substantial presence. It not only complemented the existing property but enhanced it, creating a feature that feels fully integrated rather than added on.
The client embraced the recommendation, trusting our team's technical knowledge and commitment to delivering the best possible solution. The final installation stands as a testament to the skill, care, and forward-thinking approach that define our work. What began as a routine brief resulted in a high-quality, future-proofed living space that truly reflects the standards celebrated by the industry.
Horizon Home Improvements

This project showcases our ability to deliver exceptional craftsmanship on one of the most technically demanding residential installations we have completed. The original structure – a single-glazed timber conservatory with an unusually complex 16-facet curved front and multi-angled parapet wall – required a complete transformation into a modern, high-performance sunroom that still respected the cottage’s character and courtyard setting.
Recreating the curved elevation was a defining challenge. Our team carried out meticulous surveying to achieve absolute accuracy, allowing us to install custom VEKA Halo contour profile frames and a fully welded curved cill for a seamless finish with outstanding long-term stability. These bespoke details elevated both the look and performance of the new structure.
The roof demanded equally specialist expertise. Cut entirely on site to match the unique footprint, it incorporated two large, perfectly aligned rooflights supported by structural steels. Bespoke firrings were crafted to create controlled falls that directed water both to the gutter and around the rooflights – preventing the water-pooling issues typical of flat roofs. The EPDM Permaroof membrane was then installed with precise falls and extended over the parapet wall to permanently resolve historic leaks, finished elegantly with stone coping tiles.
This project highlights our ability to take on complex, curved, and highly bespoke structures – delivering a sunroom that blends seamlessly with its surroundings and is engineered to perform for decades.
Jewel Home Improvements

This project showcases Jewel Home Group’s ability to transform an outdated, seasonally limited conservatory into a high-performance, year-round living space through thoughtful design, regulatory compliance, and sustainable practice. The homeowner approached us after finding her original conservatory too cold in winter and uncomfortably hot in summer. She wanted a modern, fully usable extension without rebuilding from scratch, retaining the existing base while significantly improving comfort and efficiency.
Working collaboratively with the client, we designed a solution centred on a fully insulated 3300 x 3400 Warmer Roof system and a high-spec three-part Smart 1000 bifold door in anthracite grey, glazed with 4mm toughened safety glass. This combination allowed us to open the space visually, improve natural light, and create a modern connection to the garden while achieving exceptional thermal performance. Internally, the roof was completed with plastered finishes, inset spotlights, and bespoke box gutters for seamless integration with the property.
Every product and installation stage was delivered in full compliance with UK Building Regulations, including Parts A, B, and L. The Warmer Roof achieved excellent U-values, with all components CE-marked and fire-rated to BS 476, while glazing met BS EN 12150 safety standards. Our qualified installers followed strict manufacturer specifications, ensuring robust structural integrity, airtightness, and long-term durability.
Sustainability was central to the design. By retaining the existing structure, using recyclable materials, and integrating high-performance insulation and glazing, the installation significantly reduced heat loss, energy consumption, and waste.
The result is a bright, modern, and comfortable room that delivers year-round usability, an exemplary demonstration of Jewel Home Group’s craftsmanship, innovation, and customer focused design.

Stafford uPVC Windows

Stafford uPVC Windows proudly delivered a remarkable upgrade: converting a complex timber-framed conservatory with a dated polycarbonate roof – once a simple link between house and annex – into a modern, fully insulated living space. The project featured a SupaLite tiled roof system and brand-new PVC-U frames, creating a stylish, energy-efficient extension.
The conservatory posed several issues. The property had an unconventional layout with a large gable front, and suffered from poor insulation and weak thermal performance, as well as fungus growing from timber beams. The brief demanded year-round comfort, improved energy efficiency, preserved garden views, and a natural flow between house and annex.
Working with the homeowner and SupaLite, our team designed a bespoke scheme to overcome the structure’s awkward shape.
The conservatory is now a fully integrated living area rather than a passageway. With superior insulation and weatherproofing, it offers year-round comfort and durability. The transformation balances practicality with aesthetics, giving the family a warm, inviting space that respects the original layout while delivering modern performance and longevity.
Bereco Retail

Bereco delivered a standout conservation-led window and door replacement for an Edwardian home in one of Stockport’s most tightly controlled heritage areas. The project included 15 timber windows and two entrance doors and required a remarkably careful, collaborative approach due to the property’s architectural significance and the strict oversight of the conservation team.
Two original casement window designs – the living room bay and the kitchen – proved central to the project’s complexity. These early 20th-century frames featured highly decorative detailing not found elsewhere on the street, making them uniquely important to the home’s historic character. The conservation officer required exact like-for-like replication, setting a far higher bar than a typical conservation replacement.
While much of the home could be completed using Bereco’s Traditional range, the two feature windows demanded completely bespoke, one-off designs. Using hand-recorded measurements from the severely decayed originals, Bereco’s technical team recreated the historic mouldings, fluted details, external butt hinges, cockspur handles and externally glazed construction. This process involved extensive CAD modelling, multiple design reviews and close communication with the conservation officer to ensure absolute accuracy.
The installation itself brought additional challenges, including hidden structural issues and winter working conditions, all of which required flexibility and problem-solving on site. Through steady coordination between surveyors, technical staff, production, and the installation team, each issue was identified early and resolved without compromising the finished result.
This project represented months of detailed work and genuine team effort across Bereco. We are incredibly proud of the outcome. The completed installation restores the home’s architectural character with respect and accuracy, while providing the comfort, warmth and reliability expected from modern performance timber windows.
Coastal Windows & Conservatories

Coastal Windows & Conservatories are based in Newton Abbot, Devon covering the South West offering a host of home improvement products and services. Established in 1989 they have over 36 years of providing high quality products, customer focused service & aftercare and solutions tailored to each customer’s needs, budget and property.
The team consists of 14 installation teams, 2 building teams, 3 surveyors a plasterer and service engineer.
This project was an example of how their in-house teams can work together to overcome design, planning, survey issues and deliver a quality finished product on time optimising a customer’s home and value. The space was transformed from a dangerous, cold unusable space to a tranquil, relaxing and energy efficient living space, whilst delivering exemplary customer service and satisfaction.
Upon the consultation it was established that the conservatory fell within the boundary of a conservation area and would therefore require a planning application to ensure compliance and no issues when the client sold their property in the future. We completed this in house providing the local planning department with full existing and proposed drawings, a supporting statement, cross sections and floor plans.
Coastal Windows & Conservatories used a mixture of their product offering, such as flat roofing, to overcome the original piers, timber frames and Ultraframe’s classic roof glazed with ambiance solar controlled glazing and an aluminium top cap to satisfy the local planning department.
Emerald Windows & Doors

The homeowners of this rural Cotswold self-build set out to create something special: a new home that looked as though it had always been part of the village. Their vision combined traditional farmhouse character with the benefits of modern construction. It was designed to settle naturally into its surroundings, not stand out from them.
The journey, however, did not begin smoothly. Their first supplier delivered windows in the wrong colour and without glazing, and the house remained unfinished for almost two years. Temporary wooden frames and plastic sheeting were used just to keep the weather out. According to the clients, it felt like “watching our dream slowly unravel,” and they were unsure where to turn next.
When they visited Emerald Windows & Doors, everything began to change. A Residence Collection R7 flush casement window in Pebble Grey was on display in the showroom, and it matched the design they had imagined from the very beginning. That moment was emotional for them – it signalled that the project could still be saved.
Emerald installed 16 Residence Collection R7 windows with external astragal bars and traditional proportions. Bespoke detailing was added, including a tailor-made cill return and a colour-matched perimeter finish to blend the frames with the surrounding stonework. The aim was simple: to achieve the appearance of handcrafted timber, without demanding ongoing timber maintenance.
The installation took place during Emerald’s four-day working week system, which helped maintain a strong pace and high standard of workmanship. Every elevation was surveyed digitally, and every reveal was handled with care. When the scaffolding finally came down, the clients said it felt like “we had our home back again.”
Today, the property stands as an example of modern craftsmanship serving traditional design – a new home with an old soul.
Reddish Joinery

Our client Charlotte first approached us in 2023 for guidance on replacing her windows and doors in a conservation area, struggling for over a year to obtain approval. When she returned to us, we supported her through the conservation process and worked closely with the team to demonstrate why Accoya was a more durable and stable choice than oak, ultimately securing their approval.
We crafted the windows and doors from Accoya, chosen for its Class 1 durability, exceptional stability, and 50-year warranty and finished them with a microporous stain to achieve a light oak appearance. As the property featured irregular stonework and several imperfect round windows, we produced precise bespoke solutions to create clean, balanced lines and a refined finish.
All joinery was spray-finished in our Stockport facility, and as a FENSA-registered and certified Accoya installer, we ensured every detail met conservation requirements while delivering long-lasting performance.
Silent View Windows Commercial

The restoration of the former NatWest Bank in Thame, Oxfordshire, is a showcase of how heritage architecture can be renewed through craftsmanship, sensitivity and technical precision.
Delivered by Silent View Windows Commercial, the commercial division of Silent View Windows, the project involved the replacement of 26 windows within a Grade II-listed building, converting the upper floors into two residential apartments above a newly refurbished bakery at the heart of Thame’s historic High Street.
Working from a 1910 photograph sourced from Thame Museum, the team meticulously replicated the original fenestration pattern that had been lost through later alterations. Each opening was individually surveyed and measured to accommodate irregular masonry, ensuring the new windows aligned perfectly with the proportions and rhythm of the original building while complementing the shopfront below.
Residence 9 timber-alternative windows were specified in Grained White with leaded glass and fabricated by CWG Choices. This specification provided the depth and sightlines of traditional timber joinery while delivering modern thermal efficiency, acoustic performance and low maintenance, ideal for a busy conservation-area location.
Operating from the heart of Oxfordshire, Silent View Windows Commercial works closely with developers, architects and contractors on heritage and architectural glazing projects across the region. The Thame project demonstrates how careful design, accurate specification and responsible installation can bring new life to buildings of historic value while maintaining full planning and listed-building compliance.
The result restores balance and authenticity to one of Thame’s most recognisable buildings. It stands as proof that heritage, performance and sustainability can coexist beautifully.
Staywarm Energy (UK)

Staywarm Energy is proud to showcase this standout heritage installation carried out at a character property in Levens, Cumbria. The homeowners wanted to retain the traditional charm of their home while making meaningful improvements that offered greater comfort and long-term sustainability. Our solution was the installation of 10 Timberlook Flush Sash PVC windows alongside a bespoke hardwood door, each chosen with careful consideration for the property’s rural setting and established architectural style.
The Timberlook Flush Sash system recreates the appearance of classic timber joinery and was selected for its ability to complement the surrounding conservation landscape. Its authentic detailing, such as the flush external finish and period-appropriate proportions, allowed us to preserve the building’s original aesthetic. The hardwood door was produced to the same high standard and was crafted to reflect traditional design features that have long been associated with homes of this age and character.
Throughout the project, our focus remained on respecting the property’s heritage while delivering practical improvements for the homeowners. The upgraded windows and door provide enhanced insulation and acoustic performance, contributing to a more comfortable and stable indoor environment. The materials used offer long-term durability and reduced maintenance requirements, supporting a more sustainable lifestyle without disrupting the historic feel of the home.
This installation reflects Staywarm Energy’s commitment to sensitive, high-quality work within conservation areas and heritage settings. By combining modern product benefits with authentic period styling, we ensured the homeowners could enjoy contemporary comfort while their property remained fully aligned with its architectural past. The result is a carefully balanced upgrade that protects local heritage and demonstrates the value of thoughtful craftsmanship and expert installation.
Touchstone Glazing Solutions (Myddelton Lodge)

Myddelton Lodge, a Grade I listed historic residence overlooking Ilkley, required a sensitive and highly specialist approach when the owners sought to replace the ageing windows throughout the former chapel and wider estate.
Overton Architects commissioned Touchstone Glazing Solutions to provide an estimate that could meet the twin demands of improved thermal performance and strict conservation requirements. The building’s original stone mullions, leaded lights and narrow sightlines meant that any new glazing had to preserve the house’s character while delivering modern comfort.
Touchstone’s patented Insulead® system capable of fitting double-glazed units directly into stone without altering the historic fabric and their Steelyte® stainless-steel opening casements were ideally suited to the task, offering thermal efficiency, reduced condensation and a near-identical visual match to the original windows. Offering traditional craftsmanship with advanced glazing technology appropriate for a Grade I-listed building. A detailed stone survey revealed structural challenges including cracked transoms, damaged jambs and cement-filled mullions, all of which required careful handling during removal and installation. Through meticulous planning, on-site expertise and conservation-led techniques, Touchstone executed the work without requiring additional stone masonry.
The project exemplified heritage-sensitive upgrading, balancing conservation standards, sustainability and performance, with Touchstone’s ISO-certified, BFRC-rated systems delivering discreet efficiency improvements. Supported by Overton Architects and Historic England, the project team ensured that Myddelton Lodge retained its architectural integrity while benefiting from glazing that will protect and preserve the building for generations.
Touchstone Glazing Solutions (Rochdale Town Hall)

Rochdale Town Hall, one of the UK’s finest examples of Victorian Gothic architecture, has undergone a major restoration to secure its future and enhance its environmental performance. The Grade I-listed landmark, opened in 1871 and renowned for its ornate stonework and historic stained glass, had suffered from years of deterioration, including a leaking roof, failing drainage, and ageing windows that were no longer weatherproof. As part of a broader regeneration scheme to reopen more of the building to the public, specialist heritage manufacturer Touchstone Glazing Solutions was appointed to replace and refurbish the building’s historic windows.
With expertise in conservation-sensitive glazing, Touchstone designed and installed bespoke solutions that preserved the 19th-century appearance while introducing modern thermal efficiency. Their patented Insulead® frameless double-glazed units and Steelyte® stainless steel opening casements enabled significant performance improvements without altering the building’s original fabric, an essential requirement for Grade I-listed structures. The result is a window system that maintains the Town Hall’s architectural authenticity while ensuring long-term weatherproofing, improved insulation, and enhanced occupant comfort.
The project presented unique challenges, including the need for every window to open to 30° despite the constraints of the historic stonework. Touchstone’s development engineer created entirely new bespoke hardware, supported by 3D prototyping and extensive on-site testing, to ensure full functionality without compromising the heritage structure. This restoration exemplifies the balance of traditional craftsmanship and modern engineering, securing the legacy of Rochdale Town Hall for future generations while meeting today’s sustainability standards.
YES Glazing Solutions

This project is a heritage-sensitive renovation carried out in Oxted, on a property with a traditional exterior that belies a thoroughly modern interior. The client’s brief called for glazing solutions that would respect the classical character of the building while supporting a contemporary reconfiguration of internal and external spaces. The challenge was to deliver the timeless elegance of steel-framed windows and doors, iconic to industrial and period architecture, without compromising on performance, energy efficiency, or maintenance.
To fulfil the brief, YES Glazing Solutions was engaged to supply and install both external and internal glazing elements using its YES Steel Look Traditional collection. The client required external windows and doors that would mirror heritage proportions and slender profiles, and interior partitions that retained the visual language of steel but could integrate seamlessly into a clean, open-plan layout. The design also demanded a consistent grid pattern, with fine framing and glazing bars echoing traditional steel, but engineered in a system capable of modern insulation, secure locking and durability.
The overall goal was to transform the interior into a bright, connected living space while preserving the building’s outwardly classic charm. By implementing bespoke glazing throughout, YES Glazing allowed natural light to flood internal rooms, created visual continuity via internal glazed screens, and maintained the architectural integrity of the heritage façade.
EYG Commercial
EYG Commercial’s glazing installation on Hull's new ‘Monocle’ development not only generated a feeling of great pride within the company but also demonstrated the firm’s industry-leading skills.
One of Hull’s most recognisable and well-known landmarks, the 1960s office complex, formerly known as Europa House, has been given a new lease of life thanks to a multimillion-pound refurbishment.
Previously glazed in a gold, reflective glazing panels, preventing people from being able to see inside from outside the building, it was transformed with the installation of neutral solar control glass, giving a modern look with the bronze panels and bronze powder-coated trims.
EYG installed 400 1mx2.6m glazed units and 500 gold panels to give a stunning external look.
High-performance, 34.8mm width double glazed units were used to replace single glazing previously, which were each laminated in an 8.8mm neutral solar control finish. The curved nature of the building meant the surveying and planning of installation had to be extremely precise.
A specific curtain walling system had to be chosen, and during installation precision was key. The sheer size and weight of the 400 1mx2.6m glazed units also brought challenges, as the specific required number of glazing panels had to be lifted by crane to each of the six floors during a stage in the development where there was open access through the back of the building.
The windows then each needed to be fitted one at a time from the outside, as the aluminium curtain walling sections were too small for windows to be fitted conventionally from the inside.
There was also limited space outside due to scaffolding, so each of the 400 glazing units had to be picked up by a by a specialist glazing robot from inside the building, then lifted into place.
GHW Windows

The Colwall Care Home in Malvern, developed by LNC Developments, required a complete glazing package that balanced aesthetic appeal, modern performance, and practicality for a large-scale care environment. The brief was to supply and install high-quality windows and doors that would not only deliver long-lasting thermal efficiency but also meet stringent safety, accessibility, and compliance requirements for a care setting.
The project called for products that could seamlessly blend with the attractive, contemporary design of the building while remaining sympathetic to its residential character. The developer wanted the property to feel inviting and homely, rather than clinical, ensuring residents and visitors alike enjoyed a warm and welcoming environment.
In addition, the specification had to account for performance in terms of insulation, soundproofing, and security. For a care home, these elements are essential: residents benefit from a quiet, comfortable living space, while management requires secure, low-maintenance solutions
As the building design featured angled frames and complex structural elements, the glazing installation also needed to demonstrate technical precision. These features provided an opportunity to showcase bespoke fabrication and installation skills, ensuring every window and door was fitted to perfection.
Our challenge was to combine style, practicality, and performance, creating a modern, energy-efficient care facility that would stand the test of time. By working closely with the client, architects, and suppliers, we ensured that the products chosen not only enhanced the building’s external appearance but also created a safe and comfortable living environment for residents, fulfilling the developer’s brief in every detail.
Glevum Windows

This project showcases Glevum Windows’ exceptional delivery of a highly sensitive, technically demanding installation at Horsfall House, a long-established care home and day centre supporting older adults with physical frailties, dementia, and severe memory conditions. The client’s brief required the full replacement of ageing 1990s window units to improve energy efficiency, comfort, safety, and the overall living environment, while ensuring the care home remained fully operational at all times. This meant all work had to be carried out with minimal noise, disruption, and environmental change, recognising the vulnerability of residents and the importance of maintaining routine.
Glevum selected the Epwin/Profile 22 Optima system for its outstanding thermal performance, weather resistance, and suitability for healthcare settings. Fabricated by Emplas – operating under ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 – the system offered exceptional quality, sustainability and customisation. Emplas’ investment in clean energy and reduced emissions further strengthened the environmental credentials of the project. A full closed loop recycling process was used for all removed PVC-U frames, while glass was processed through the Saint-Gobain Glass Forever programme, delivering meaningful circular economy benefits.
The greatest challenge was the unpredictability of room access due to residents’ health needs. Glevum overcame this with a uniquely flexible programme, supported by real-time coordination with care staff and a standing reserve schedule ensuring installation teams remained productive without disturbing residents.
The result was a fully compliant, on-time, on-budget installation that delivered significant thermal, aesthetic and environmental improvements – enhancing comfort, safety, and wellbeing for everyone at Horsfall House.
Horizon Home Improvements

Jewel Home Group

This customer is a long-term property development partner and we were approached to quote for and carry out significant renovations of a period property current used as a hospital. The project forms part of a major refurbishment of a substantial period property now operated by Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust. Our role was to sensitively replace the building’s ageing, deteriorated timber sash windows with modern, energy-efficient PVC-U sash units that preserve the character and heritage of the original architecture.
Phase One, now completed, consisted of the installation of 65 large PVC-U sash windows across the entire ground floor. Phase Two, scheduled for 2026, will include a further 66 windows of similar scale and specification.
The existing timber sashes were severely degraded, with dated double glazing and significant structural wear. Their poor condition resulted in inadequate insulation, low energy efficiency and reduced security, all of which are critical considerations for a healthcare facility accommodating vulnerable patients.
Our solution delivered the best of both worlds: traditional sash styling that maintains the integrity and visual appeal of the beautiful period property, combined with modern performance benefits such as enhanced thermal efficiency, improved security, low maintenance and long-term durability.
This installation demonstrates how thoughtful planning and high-quality PVC-U sash design can sympathetically rejuvenate a historic healthcare building while significantly improving comfort, safety and energy performance for the Trust, staff and patients.
Starglaze Home Improvements LLP

Our curtain walling installation for the new café at Whisby Garden Centre showcases a standout example of commercial glazing within a light-commercial setting. As two Lincoln-based businesses, Starglaze and Whisby Garden Centre share a longstanding commitment to supporting the local community, and this project allowed us to enhance a much-loved destination.
Touchstone Glazing Solutions

Currergate Nursing Home, a Grade II-listed vernacular revival building dating back to 1912, required a sensitive yet effective solution to address the deterioration of its original single-glazed leaded-light windows and steel casements.
With many of the leaded lights at the end of their lifespan bowing, leaking, and suffering from damaged cames and previous failed repairs, as well as the steel casements rusting, distorted, and no longer operable, the brief demanded improved thermal performance, reduced condensation, and enhanced resident comfort, all while preserving the building’s historic character.
Touchstone Glazing Solutions was commissioned to provide a conservation-led approach that would respect the fabric of this important heritage asset. The proposed solution combined Touchstone’s patented Insulead® frameless double-glazing system, which is thermally broken and fully drained, with handcrafted applied-lead detailing and Albion Crowne® glass to replicate the subtle distortion and charm of traditional hand-blown glazing.
For the opening elements, Touchstone’s Steelyte® thermally broken stainless-steel casements provided a durable, low maintenance replacement for the failing originals, visually matched through black powder coating and refined 35mm sightlines. Installation was carefully planned around the routines of this live nursing-home environment, prioritising resident wellbeing, safety, and dignity at every stage. By combining thermal improvement, heritage authenticity, and meticulous onsite coordination, the project successfully delivered a sustainable, compliant, and visually seamless upgrade that safeguards Currergate’s architectural legacy while enhancing comfort for its residents.
Sandymount Windows & Doors

Sandymount Windows & Doors completed a full aluminium window and door installation across seven contemporary new-build homes in Rangeworthy, Bristol. The development featured 81 OW80 aluminium windows, a mix of OB49 single, French, and bifold doors, and seven SE04 front doors with sidelights.
Working closely with West-Tec Construction and Dexter Building Design, we navigated a constantly shifting build schedule and varying external finishes across the plots. Each property required a tailored approach to maintain consistent sightlines, weatherproofing, and overall design integrity.
We partnered exclusively with Origin Global for their fast turnaround, sustainability credentials, and aluminium range that suited both the contemporary brief and the rural setting. Slim sightlines maximised natural light, boosted energy performance, and complemented the homes’ modern aesthetic.
Although the programme extended from seven to 14 months due to construction delays, proactive communication, flexible scheduling, and rapid manufacturing support kept the project moving. Our team effectively became coordinators as well as installers, adapting to evolving site conditions without compromising quality.
The scale and variety of products, mixed façades, and ongoing structural changes made this a technically demanding project. Despite the challenges, all installations met building regulations, accessibility requirements, and security standards including PAS 24 and Secured by Design. Sustainability remained a focus throughout, from recyclable aluminium products to efficient surveying, waste reduction, and reduced site travel.
This project showcases collaborative working, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver high-quality installations within a complex and ever-changing construction environment.
Silent View Windows Commercial

Manor Cottages in Long Crendon presented a rare opportunity to work on a development that blends rural character with modern craftsmanship. Delivered by Silent View Windows Commercial, the commercial division of Silent View Windows, the project involved the complete glazing package for five new-build cottages set beside the historic Long Crendon Manor. The site, once part of the manor’s former stable yard and menage, has long been a recognisable part of the village’s landscape, surrounded by independent shops, a café and a local bakery.
The brief was to supply and install windows and doors that felt rooted in the heritage of the area while offering all the performance expected from a contemporary home. Liniar flush casement windows were chosen for their timber-like appearance, clean sightlines and strong energy credentials, complementing the traditional aesthetic of the cottages. These were partnered with Solidor composite front doors and modern bi folding doors to bring light into the rear living spaces and connect the homes to their landscaped gardens.
Because each cottage had slightly different elevations, dormers and proportions, every window and door had to be surveyed individually by our team. This allowed us to maintain consistency across the terrace while achieving a precise fit for each property. Working on a tight rural site also meant coordinating delivery schedules, scaffolding and installation carefully to avoid disruption to residents, neighbouring businesses and through-traffic into the village.
The finished scheme brings together heritage-inspired design and modern performance in a way that feels natural to the setting. Manor Cottages now sits comfortably within the heart of Long Crendon, echoing the charm of the original manor buildings while providing warm, efficient homes for the next generation.

West Leigh Group

Our client sought to transform a historic Victorian wallpaper factory in West London, restoring its architectural authenticity while meeting modern energy efficiency standards. Originally built with cast iron windows, the building underwent major alterations in the 1980s when W20 steel windows replaced the original design, removing small-pane detailing and panelling curved heads, significantly compromising its heritage character. The brief focused on reinstating the original cast iron aesthetic and distinctive period detailing while achieving improved thermal performance. The challenge was to balance authentic restoration with contemporary sustainability requirements, delivering a solution that met strict U-value targets without sacrificing historical integrity.
To achieve this, we specified 200 Series Steel, which replicates the appearance of cast iron, paired with UK Fineo vacuum-sealed double-glazing units (DGUs). These units offer exceptional thermal performance within an ultra-slim profile – 8mm overall thickness with a 6mm sightline – ensuring discreet integration into the heritage framework.
Key challenges included reconciling Victorian design principles with advanced glazing technology. Our approach reinstated the original small-pane configuration and restored curved window heads, reviving the building’s architectural language. Precision engineering and high-performance materials enabled compliance with sustainability expectations while preserving authenticity.
The project delivered a harmonious blend of heritage and innovation: windows that echo 19th-century craftsmanship yet provides modern comfort and efficiency. Compliance was achieved by satisfying council heritage requirements and combining 1960s steel sections with cutting-edge glazing technology.
Sustainability was integral. Existing steel frames were removed and recycled, while new products were manufactured from 100% recycled steel. Designed for longevity, these windows can be fully recycled after more than a century of use, reinforcing the project’s commitment to circularity.
This restoration exemplifies how thoughtful design can unite historical preservation with technical advancement, creating a solution that is visually authentic, functionally superior, and environmentally responsible.

Astra Windows

Astra Windows and AluK are proud to have partnered on the creation of two stunning £1.25m new-build homes in Romiley, Stockport. Designed by Manchester-based architects BUJU for HAR Property Services, these five-bedroom, three-storey properties exemplify modern living, with light-filled interiors and panoramic views across sloping gardens and the valley beyond.
Glazing was central to the architectural vision, and Astra Windows delivered a complete aluminium solution using exclusively AluK systems. The standout feature is the dramatic double-height curtain walling in AluK’s SL52 system, spanning over 8m across the rear elevation and incorporating glazed gables in the vaulted master suites. This thermally broken system, with slim 50mm sightlines, perfectly fulfilled the architect’s “more light, less frame” concept.
Complementing the curtain walling are AluK BSF70 bifold doors, BSC94 sliding patio doors, and a mix of windows and French doors in the 58BW HI and 58BD systems – all finished in a sleek RAL9005 matt black powder coat at AluK’s state-of-the-art Chepstow facility. This unified aesthetic enhances the contemporary design, while acoustic glazing at the front reduces road noise and high-performance glass throughout supports the EPC A-rating achieved by the homes.
Precision was key: Astra’s team remeasured openings after brickwork to guarantee a flawless fit, ensuring seamless integration with the highly insulated timber frames. The result is a project that combines outstanding design, technical excellence, and sustainability – with 100% recyclable aluminium and thermally efficient systems contributing to energy performance.
Together, Astra Windows and AluK have delivered glazing that not only meets the brief but elevates these homes into architectural landmarks.
Britannia Windows (UK)
Originally built in 1933 by the same builders responsible for the iconic Curzon Cinema – one of the world’s oldest continually operating purpose-built cinemas – this property holds true architectural significance and local heritage value.
The project presented several unique challenges – most notably the curved windows. The original timber frames had deteriorated over time, and it was vital to not only replicate the existing curve on the lower levels but also design a bespoke curved window solution for the top deck, where there had previously been six square fixed windows. Achieving the perfect curvature required precision surveying, expert fabrication, and close collaboration between the design, manufacturing, and installation teams.
Once the design was finalised, the next challenge came in transporting and installing the oversized curved glass units. Due to their scale, weight, and delicate form, the installation required scaffolding and a coordinated team of experienced fitters to carefully lift and position each window into place. Teamwork and meticulous handling were essential to ensure a flawless finish without any damage.
The finished result blends aesthetic beauty with long-term performance. The new curved aluminium windows on both upper and lower levels, together with the porthole-style kitchen windows, retain the property’s original charm while enhancing its energy efficiency and reducing heat loss. The end product is a striking modernisation that remains faithful to the property’s 1930s character, delivering exceptional performance and timeless architectural appeal.
Camel Glass & Joinery (Barn Conversion project)

Camel Glass was appointed to supply and install specialist glazing for the transformation of a traditional rural barn into a contemporary, energy-efficient family home. The brief was to retain the original charm of the building while enhancing it with modern glazing solutions that would maximise natural light, improve thermal performance, and create strong visual connections to the surrounding landscape.
To achieve this, Camel Glass specified and installed high-performance Rationel AURAPLUS windows and doors. These premium units feature a durable aluminium exterior and warm timber interior, offering the perfect balance of modern durability and heritage sensitivity. Triple glazing throughout provided exceptional insulation and airtightness, helping to meet stringent energy-efficiency goals.
The project presented several technical challenges, including integrating large glazed openings into the barn’s existing structure. Careful structural modifications and bespoke installation techniques were required to maintain the integrity of the building while delivering expansive, uninterrupted views. Precision was critical to ensure weatherproofing, airtightness, and a seamless finish across all apertures.
Sustainability was a key focus. By repurposing the original structure rather than building from scratch, the project significantly reduced embodied carbon. The use of FSC-certified timber, long-lasting materials, and high-performance glazing further supported the environmental objectives. The positioning of the windows also maximised passive solar gain and natural ventilation.
The completed barn conversion is a striking example of how heritage architecture can be sensitively upgraded with modern materials. Camel Glass delivered a glazing solution that met the project’s aesthetic, performance, and environmental requirements – helping to create a home that is both characterful and contemporary, with lasting comfort and style.
Camel Glass & Joinery (Cornwall project)

This striking coastal home in Tywardreath, on the south coast of Cornwall, represents the seamless partnership between high-performance glazing, precision in-house fabrication and a statement entrance door, all delivered by Camel Glass. The project formed part of a complete knock-down and rebuild, where the brief from both the client and architect was clear: maximise the panoramic views across St Austell Bay while ensuring the building envelope could perform in one of Cornwall’s most demanding coastal locations.
Exposed to high winds, salt-laden air and rapid temperature changes, the site required systems that balanced refined architectural design with robust long-term durability. Camel Glass supplied, fabricated and installed a full suite of Schüco aluminium systems – including AWS 70 HI windows and ASE 60 lift-and-slide doors – all produced in our own Holsworthy aluminium factory. These systems were chosen for their slim sightlines, structural strength, energy performance and proven coastal resilience.
As the focal point of the entrance, the client selected an Inspiration Doors feature door in our premium Oxidised Iron finish. This handcrafted door introduces warmth, texture and visual weight to the façade, complementing the clean architectural lines of the glazing while providing exceptional thermal and security performance.
The finished home is a light-filled, contemporary coastal property where minimal frames, floor-to-ceiling glazing and a sculptural entrance door work together to form a refined, modern aesthetic. The project showcases Camel Glass’s ability to collaborate with architects and homeowners to deliver technically demanding installations with meticulous attention to detail. It stands as a testament to craftsmanship, coastal-grade performance and design-led innovation – a standout example of premium fenestration enhancing both architecture and lifestyle.
Horizon Home Improvements

This new-build project was designed to deliver a truly high-end finish, and Horizon was chosen to supply the premium glazing package required to achieve that standard. The clients sought products that combined exceptional thermal performance with slim, contemporary sightlines – solutions positioned at the very top of the market for both efficiency and aesthetics.
To meet the project’s demanding energy requirements, we specified Rationel windows, achieving passive-level U-values throughout. At the rear elevation, bonded bars were incorporated to introduce subtle cottage-style detailing, ensuring the property maintained character when viewed from the lower levels of this multi-tiered site.
Maximising the panoramic view from the front elevation was a key priority. We installed Origin bi-folding doors to minimise mullion width, allowing the clients to enjoy uninterrupted sightlines and a strikingly modern appearance. This was complemented by an RK entrance door, chosen as a bold architectural statement to set the tone on arrival – and it delivers exactly that.
Internally, the clients wished to continue a refined, Crittall-inspired aesthetic. We achieved this using the RK steel system for ultra-slim sliding doors, paired with Origin internal doors for the single hinged openings to ensure visual consistency throughout.
Working collaboratively with the design team, Horizon ensured that every glazing decision supported the overarching vision: maximum light, maximum performance, and maximum style. This project exemplifies Horizon’s ability to pair technical expertise with design-led thinking, delivering bespoke solutions that elevate the architecture and enhance the way the space is experienced.

The result is a home that retains its original charm while benefiting from modern technology: secure, energy-efficient, and low-maintenance. This project highlights Jewel Home Group’s commitment to quality, craftsmanship and regulatory compliance, delivering both aesthetic and functional improvements for the client.
Lightfoot Windows

Alternatively known as Marlow House and dating from the 15th century, this property has timber framing concealed by a 19th-century re-fronting which also included the addition of a shop window. The building was a tea house and restaurant when listed in the early 1980s but has now reverted to being a private residence.
The latest set of alterations to this building were substantial, including the demolition of the modern two-storey rear extension and demolition of the modern conservatory to make way for construction of a new, two-storey extension to the rear elevation.
This listed building required new glazing that combined heritage charm with contemporary living whilst also maximising the amount of natural light into their home; now this beautiful mid-Sussex property has been transformed into a forever home that honours its heritage while embracing light and openness with the use of Crittall steel windows and doors.
Precision Home Improvements

This stunning Residence 9 installation in Bournemouth represents the perfect harmony of heritage authenticity and modern innovation. Situated within a conservation area, the property demanded the utmost sensitivity to its traditional character while requiring a complete upgrade in energy efficiency, security, and comfort.
Precision Home Improvements rose to the challenge, delivering a transformation that celebrates the home’s original charm while discreetly incorporating the latest glazing technology. Every element, from the white grained Residence 9 flush sash windows and transom weather bars to the satin silver pear-drop handles was meticulously specified to replicate classic timber detailing with none of the ongoing maintenance.
The project’s complexity was heightened by a live renovation environment, with multiple trades working simultaneously and scaffolding restricting access. Despite these challenges, the team achieved flawless results through clear communication, craftsmanship, and careful sequencing. Custom lead trays were fabricated and installed above the first-floor bay windows to replace deteriorated originals, providing a long-term, watertight solution that preserved the property’s period features.
Beyond its visual appeal, the installation achieved measurable improvements in sustainability, achieving A-rated energy performance and full compliance with Building Regulations. Radcliffe Glass & Windows

To fulfil the client’s brief of blending traditional character with contemporary styling, we carefully selected a range of high-performance aluminium products that delivered the right balance of visual appeal, usability, and long-term efficiency. Every product was chosen not only for its architectural contribution but also for its ability to enhance energy performance and provide a durable, low-maintenance solution for the home.
At the rear ground floor elevation, the priority was to achieve uninterrupted views and create a strong connection between the interior living space and the garden. For this reason, we installed Origin OS-29 slimline patio doors. Their exceptionally narrow sightlines and expansive glass panels allowed natural light to flood the space while offering a seamless, modern look in keeping with the contemporary style requested for the rear façade. Their smooth sliding mechanism and refined engineering added both practicality and elegance.
To introduce an element of Art Deco styling, Aluco aluminium steel-look windows with slim astragal bars were incorporated into the design. These provided distinctive detailing and the appearance of classic steel glazing while retaining the strength, thermal performance, and efficiency of modern aluminium frames. This combination allowed for a visually striking yet practical feature that complemented both the modern and traditional elements of the brief.
For the front elevation, the clients wanted a more traditional appearance. We therefore selected Duration aluminium vertical sliding windows, which offer the timeless look of heritage sash windows while benefiting from the superior durability, security, and performance of aluminium technology.
All glazing throughout the project used energy-efficient Planitherm glass, ensuring excellent insulation and year-round comfort.
The result is a harmonious and high-quality installation that meets the clients’ design aspirations while providing outstanding performance and longevity.

What were once extortionate energy bills caused by old glazing have been replaced with the thought of whether the heating is on or not, leaving two extremely happy clients whose project brief got matched to exact specification – another project delivered successfully by HomeChoice Glazing.
Jewel Home Group

This customer commissioned a full upgrade of their older-style detached home, a property defined by intricately detailed timber windows and an original front door. The brief was to modernise the home with high-performance products while preserving its period character.
We specified Halo Flush Rustique PVC-U windows and an Endurance composite door, chosen for their ability to blend traditional aesthetics with modern technology. The Halo Flush Rustique windows replicate timber detailing with fully flush casements, sculptured beads and realistic woodgrain finishes, while offering exceptional durability, low maintenance and resistance to warping or rot. Energy-efficient, multi-chambered profiles combined with premium glazing deliver low U-values and excellent acoustic performance, ensuring the home remains warm, quiet and comfortable.
The Endurance composite door complements the windows, providing a reinforced core, high insulation, weatherproofing and advanced security. Its authentic timber look maintains the property’s character while offering long-lasting performance with minimal upkeep.
Installation adhered strictly to UK Building Regulations, including Part L (energy efficiency), Part F (ventilation), and Part Q (security), alongside British Standard BS 8213-4 for window and door fitting. Our expert workmanship ensured precise alignment, structural stability, weatherproofing and a flawless finish.
The result is a home that retains its historic charm while benefitting from modern, sustainable, and low-maintenance technology. The customer praised the seamless integration of period aesthetics with high-performance windows and doors, demonstrating how heritage properties can be sensitively upgraded to meet contemporary standards of comfort, efficiency, and security.
Radcliffe Glass & Windows

Our long-standing customer, Mr Hanif, returned to us with a clear and ambitious brief: to create a stylish, secure, and energy-efficient garden building that would serve as both a productive office and a peaceful relaxation space. Central to his vision was the desire for a seamless connection between the indoor environment and the surrounding garden, with unrestricted views and maximum natural light when the doors were fully open. Year-round comfort, durability, and a contemporary aesthetic were essential components of the design.
To achieve this, we specified a suite of premium Origin aluminium products in Jet Black (RAL 9005m), chosen for their performance, elegance, and exceptional thermal efficiency. The standout feature of the installation was the Origin OB-49 Slimline Bifold Door System with a moving corner post. With ultra-slim 110mm sightlines, market-leading security, and an effortless operating mechanism, the OB-49 allowed the entire corner of the structure to open, dissolving the boundary between inside and outside. This created the expansive, free-flowing feel the client wanted and significantly enhanced usability during warmer months.
To complement the bifold system, we installed Origin OW-70 Slimline Aluminium Windows, selected for their minimal sightlines, energy-efficient design, and ability to achieve a uniform contemporary aesthetic across the building. A matching OB-49 Slimline Single Door was included to maintain visual continuity and provide a secure independent access point.
Together, these products delivered a cohesive architectural statement – bold yet refined, modern yet highly functional. The combination of slimline aluminium frames, expansive glazing and advanced thermal performance created a bright, comfortable and practical environment perfectly aligned with the client’s needs.
The finished garden room stands as a high-quality, multi-purpose space that showcases Origin engineering and RADGAW surveying and installation at its finest and represents an outstanding example of transformative residential design.
Touchstone Glazing Solutions

Brockholes Methodist Church in Holmfirth, West Yorkshire, completed an inspiring new chapter, transforming from a cherished place of worship into a distinctive family home while celebrating the building’s historic character.
Central to the project was the restoration of the iconic North tracery window, a complex architectural feature composed of numerous intricate shapes. The new owners appointed Touchstone Glazing Solutions one of the country’s leading specialists in heritage leaded-light restoration, to deliver a glazing solution that honoured the original craftsmanship.
Touchstone’s patented Insulead® frameless double-glazing system, accepted for use in Grade I, II* and II listed buildings, was the ideal specification for this installation. Its ability to replicate any shape, combined with a thermally broken, fully drained design that fits directly into stone, made it perfectly suited to the project’s demanding profiles. The project’s main challenge lay in reproducing the window’s intricate shapes, many of which were too small to toughen, requiring meticulous templating, delicate hand-leading, and exceptional craftsmanship. Further complexity arose when a newly added mezzanine altered access to the window, prompting the team to redesign the installation strategy.
Despite these obstacles, the collaboration between Touchstone ensured a faithful, sustainable and fully compliant restoration. Their heritage-sensitive approach, ISO 9001 quality assurance, BFRC A++ energy ratings, and deep conservation expertise allowed this historic chapel to retain its spirit while evolving into a comfortable, energy-efficient modern home.
TWS (Kidderminster)

This barn conversion required a glazing package that could introduce a clean, modern aesthetic while still respecting the building’s rural heritage, leading to the specification of slim, thermally broken aluminium frames that provide excellent energy efficiency, clarity and airtightness without overwhelming the original structure.
The Aluco Elite thin-profile system was chosen for its refined steel-look design and subtle heritage detailing, including the distinctive floating lock, which delivers the character of traditional metal windows with the durability and warmth of modern aluminium. Its structural strength allows for large and shaped glazing – ideal for gable windows, oversized openings and wide fixed panels that suit barn architecture – while the addition of a horizontal astragal bar across the elevation reinforces a consistent, traditional appearance.
The project also presented several unique challenges, particularly the barn’s unusually deep plaster lines, uneven reveals and irregular wall construction, all of which demanded accurate surveying, careful frame positioning and close coordination with interior finishes to ensure the slim profiles sat neatly within the thick rustic walls. Despite these complexities, the design achieved the minimalist, contemporary look the client wanted without compromising the building’s original charm.
Compliance was fully met throughout the installation, with 3-star high-security cylinders fitted to all doors, toughened safety glass used in all relevant areas, multipoint window locking, and egress easy-clean hinges ensuring safe escape routes and user-friendly maintenance.
Sustainability was also central to the project, with long-lasting, fully recyclable aluminium frames paired with 28mm ultra-clear argon-filled warm-edge glazing achieving a 1.1 U-value to reduce heat loss and lower energy consumption.
Collectively, these elements deliver a high-performing, visually refined system that blends heritage character with modern technology and long-term environmental responsibility.
Vernon UPVC & Joinery (Garden Room project)

This project involved transforming a garden room into a glass-fronted feature using aluminium in Agate Grey. The installation included a fixed window, patio slider, door combination, and inward-opening bi-fold window, all precisely aligned to work with the unique angles of the build and create a seamless, modern finish. The trims were sprayed to colour match, and composite cladding was added to complete the contemporary aesthetic. The result is a thermally efficient and a visually stunning garden room.
